# GlobalSpiralâ„¢ Max Couplings
As mobile equipment platforms become more compact and powerful, they require larger diameter hydraulic hose with higher working pressures to meet performance demands. Large equipment used in industries like mining, oil and gas, and construction are pushing current hose size and pressure limits. To meet this demand, Gates introduces an industry first: the 32GSM no-skive coupling.
– Greater power and capacity from existing equipment by replacing 2 in., 5000 psi hose assemblies.
– A flexible, easier-to-route hose assembly to replace 2 in. rigid pipe on crowded equipment platforms.
– A stem machined from a single piece of solid steel for greater strength and integrity.
– A no-skive design requiring no special equipment and skills, reducing the risk of blow-offs or leaks.
## Features and Benefits
– Flexible construction allows the belt to withstand billions of topside and backside bends in ABDS applications, resulting in long belt life.
– Designed for small diameter pulleys, backside idlers, and for use with (or without) automatic tensioners.
– Unique form grinding of each individual belt assures precise dimensional control.
– Gates recommends replacing serpentine belts at 90,000 to prevent vehicle breakdowns, or as advised by the vehicle manufacturer.
